FROM GRASS TO GRACE: THE STORY OF ABRAHAM ATTAH

Abraham Attah (born June 15, 2001) is a ghananian actor. He made his feature film debut in Beasts of No Nation (2015). For his leading role of child soldier Agu, Attah was awarded the Marcello Mastroianni's Best Young Actor Award at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival.
In November 2015, he joined the ensemble cast of Shane Carruth's third film, The Modern Ocean.
Abraham Attah, 14, has just won one of the highest honors at the Venice Film Festival! The young star walked away with the Marcello Mastroianni Best Young Actor Award but who is this young man? 
Abraham Attah was playing hooky from school when he was approached by a member of the production staff of the Netflix movie Beasts of No Nation. He was brought in for an audition and won the lead role of Agu, an African boy forced into a team of mercenary fighters.
Abraham was nervous to star alongside actor, Edris Elba. “I was scared because it was my first time shooting a movie. I was afraid of [Elba] at first because I see him to be someone big, and I’m like an ant in front of him,” Attah told people.
He is a child actor and the only Ghanaian celebrity to have graced the Oscars. He has received several International awards and how lets’ learn some inspirational facts about a young man whose life has been transformed at age 15.
Abraham Attah was 13 years when he shot his first movie “Beast of no Nation”
He was in school on a Friday, playing soccer with friends when a white man came to his school and talked him and his friends into auditioning for the role.
He was selected by the director Cary Funkanaga after auditioning for the role as a child soldier
He did not inform his parents before auditioning for the role in the movie
Abraham lives in Ashaiaman with his parents.
Abraham never liked his first scene he shot on set because according to him it was a running scene
His best scene on set was when he was in the bush with his other childhood soldiers commanding them to come out of the bush
His worst scene in the movie is when he was left all alone in the bush after his friends had died.

Abraham has another movie title Out of the village produced by X-Men actor Bryan singer and directed by Jonathan Stein.
At age 15, Abraham Attah as visited all the important places that matters in Hollywood  like the Universal Studious and graced big interview platforms, both nationally and internationally.
He has graced several award platforms like the Venice and received a standing ovation from all industry players at the 88th Oscar Awards.
He has won several awards: Best Male Act at the Independence Spirit Awards, NAACP image awards, Critics choice awards and the Venice Film Awards, break hrough performance award  by the National board of Review he also won an award at last year’s Ghana Movie Awards.
Abraham also has another movie, modern Ocean, which is yet to be released.
He has also met the Hollywood celebrities like Morgan freeman, Sylvester Stallone, John legend, terry crews, Ben Stiller and Will Smith.
Abraham still continuous to be the child celebrity in Ghana who has made media headlines since his discovery and has got the world talking about him on social media.
Abraham aspires to be an actor and a businessman. He aspires to also study business in Senior High School.
